Ice machine is a kind of refrigeration machine that will produce high temperature and high pressure gas (vapor) by compressing or expanding the low temperature liquid refrigerant to make the liquid evaporate and vaporize rapidly.

The main function of the ice machine is to freeze water into a frozen state for production, life use; or used in food processing process of degreasing, concentration and other processes; in addition can also be used for chemical raw materials, pharmaceutical products production and bioengineering and cultivation of microbial cells and so on.

With the development of society, people's demand for quality of life is getting higher and higher, and the demand for water quality is also getting higher and higher. Therefore, the requirements for water quality are getting higher and higher.

Ice machine can directly cool the water from the higher temperature environment to below 0 ° C (generally known as 0 degrees) and save in it; can also be cooled to 0 ° C above the air (generally known as 10 degrees) after compression and then cooled into liquid water for people to drink and production needs. (In the air-conditioning system used in the chiller also belongs to this category).

Currently on the market commonly used ice machine there are two main types: one is the use of compressor refrigeration principle made of refrigerant water and made of single-effect unit; one is made of absorption refrigeration principle of double-effect unit.

Due to the two types of ice machines made of refrigerant water with different physical properties, and therefore they can reach different temperature ranges.

Compressor-type assembled single-effect units can usually only lower the water temperature to about 4 to 5°C, (depending on the and model); double-effect units can usually lower the water temperature to about 5 to 15°C. (depending on the and model).

Because of the lower working pressure (4kg/c㎡) of the compressor-type single-effect unit, the refrigerant water produced by it is denser (containing about 0.35kg of water per L).

Absorption type assembly of double-effect units of higher working pressure (10kg/c㎡), so it produces a smaller density of refrigerant water (1L of water contains 0.1kg of water), small volume and light weight (each L of water contains only 0.2 ~ 0.4kg of water), price and easy to transport and use.
